About
Hey, I’m Angie
Welcome to TropiKind Kitchen.
I’ve been living a plant-based lifestyle for over 44 years — that means mostly vegan, always vegetarian. I’m passionate about food that’s full of flavour, fresh ingredients, and good intentions.
Here’s what you won’t find here:
❌ Long rambling stories before recipes
❌ Overcomplicated instructions
❌ Hard-to-find, over-processed ingredients
Here’s what you will find:
✅ Plant-based recipes (mostly vegan, all vegetarian)
✅ Loads of vegetables, fruit, and wholesome goodness (although there will still be plenty of not-so-healthy recipes too, for occasional eating!)
✅ A tropical twist of flavour — think spices, citrus, coconut, and more
This blog focuses on a core group of ingredients — spices, lemon, lime, coconut, nuts, pineapple, chocolate and coffee — because they’re simply my favourite flavours. I love how bold, bright, and vibrant in taste they are, whether used together or on their own.
I’ve had the intention to build recipes around them for years, but the spark finally hit after tasting what they called an Amalfi gelato in Bardolino, Lake Garda. It was lemon flavoured gelato, with tiny pieces of lemon biscuit, white chocolate and a lemon biscuit crumble on top — simple but unforgettable. You can find my plant-based version of it here (link coming soon).
TropiKind Kitchen is a space for anyone who wants to eat well, live kind, and keep it vibrant in the kitchen. Whether you’re a long-time herbivore or just curious about cooking more plants — you’re welcome here.
Let’s keep it tasty, simple, and kind. — Angie
